Classes are going okay. I just handed in my Art History final today which is a relief! My final paper was on British landscape painting during the Industrial Revolution...soooo boring (although the class was actually really good). For history I'm writing my final on Margaret Thatcher, mostly because I've had songs from Billy Elliot stuck in my head lately. And because Meryl Streep is playing her in a movie coming out in a few weeks! Last night my friends and I had our usual "Restaurant Wednesdays" routine. Every Wednesday we try a new restaurant in our area as a break from the stressful week and cooking for ourselves in our dysfunctional kitchens. Last night we went out for Thai food (yum!) and then went to our favorite pub (and, fun fact, also Charles Dickens' favorite back in the day) down the street from St. Paul's Cathedral. It's hidden in an alley way and is always very crowded with locals, so the atmosphere is really British. :)
Today some friends and I went to the Royal Academy to see an exhibit about Degas and his ballerina paintings. I LOVE Degas's ballerina paintings so I really enjoyed it. Plus, it was cool to be at the Royal Academy after talking about what role it played in British art history in my art history class.
And this is where I read my books (but unfortunately mostly textbooks...). :) Kensington Palace is right behind me! |
Alexandra, Lila, and some delicious pad thai noodles! |
Some really pretty place we found right by the Royal Academy |
16 days. I can't believe it!
xoxo,
Sarah
