Day 1: Jet-lagged and Hungry

At 10:50 pm last night my fellow Londoner Emily and I boarded our plane to what is guaranteed to be the most amazing experience of our lives! (Our flight was on time despite the storm the day before, Of course, three hours (at best) of sleep on a crowded airplane followed by  attempts to navigate London's Heathrow Airport with two heavy suitcases is not a pleasurable start to any adventure. Once we met with the rest of the group we were taken to our dorm where we unpacked and walked around a bit to get to know the area. Everyone was really stressed because meeting a huge group of people when you're tired and hungry can be quite a challenge. We have no meal plan while we're here, so we have to buy food and cook for ourselves in the dorm kitchens. Well, lesson learned: if you don't make sure you get snacks and water, you'll be hungry and thirsty. First stop tomorrow: Three girls with whom I've become friendly and I are off to the neighborhood supermarket.
For now, off to bed to get enough sleep for tomorrow's scavenger hunt all over London!

Emily and I ready to take off from Boston!

Good morning London!
Double decker bus on it's way to London Bridge, driving on the wrong side of the road...now I believe I'm actually here!

My bed (don't you love it when you print out a ton of photos only to
find that your room does indeed have a bulletin board?!) And yes, I did bring my Disney stuff. Not ashamed... :)

P.S. Better/more interesting posts are coming soon, promise!

Last Day in Sharon

Of all days for there to be a hurricane in New England, the hyped up Hurricane Irene is keeping me inside (and in a few hours probably also without electricity) on my last full day in the lovely town of Sharon, MA. My friends and I could have come up with such a fabulous last-day-in-Sharon adventure, but instead I will spend today praying that my flight to London doesn't get delayed.
I've never blogged before, so I don't really know what I'm supposed to write about. Hmm...what will I miss most about Sharon besides my friends? Probably seeing familiar faces everywhere I go and having all my favorite people so close by. And I'll miss school, which I know is crazy. I'll probably miss a lot of things I can't even think of now...isn't that how it works? You don't realize you have something until you don't have it anymore?
Anyways, if Irene gets a hold of herself I will be off to London TOMORROW evening! I along with a fearless group of about 30 other Brandeis students have decided to spend our first semester of college studying in London, and I can only hope I won't be too lazy to blog about all our incredible adventures!
So long for now....let's just hope that the winds calm down and the trees stay put.

Sarah
